The Peregrine falcon is truly a spectacular bird. The fastest in the world, their speed can reach up to 238 mph! This piece is all about adaptation. Their historic nesting sites were cliffs & rocky outcrops. Today however, they are very comfortable choosing skyscrapers and bridges as their new homes. The Sagamore Bridge which spans the Cape Cod Canal is one such site. This habitat offers numerous opportunities for hunting smaller birds, such as this mourning dove. The fog lingers over the top of the bridge span, as a bit of sun peeks through to illuminate the 2 birds. We wonder how this drama will end.
