On the north side of Cape Cod is a wonderfully diverse beach area, consisting of marsh, creek, tributary, rocky shore and smooth sandy beach. This painting depicts one of the tributaries to the main creek. The shadows of the late afternoon sun show the footbridge railings crossing the creek, and help to camouflage the 2 Yellowlegs standing further back.
