This page showcases a rare event: I have cleaned out years of pieces for a special retrospective sale of my work. Some of them I have kept because I didn't want to sell them, and others have just ended up being "left behind". Some pieces date back to 1986, with a couple dating back only a few years. These are being offered at what I call "Yard Sale" prices. Every one (with 2 exceptions) are priced under $1,000.00, so if you are interested be sure to contact me ASAP. E mail me for larger images and/or detail images. I will ship for free to continental U.S.
I hope you enjoy the tour:
Most of these pieces were painted many years ago, around 1988 - 1995 - UNFRAMED ONLY
20" x 24" oil/canvas 1988
A large Juniper tree, and a stately Mule Deer buck make up the subject matter for this piece.
18" x 24" oil/canvas 1989
A light high key painting, this piece shows the simple beauty of water cutting through the ground, exposing layers of color in the dirt.
20" x 36" oil/canvas 1988
The image cuts off just a bit of the painting. It depicts a valley that I lived in for many years. Pronghorn Antelope were easily seen, and remain one of my favorite animals.
16" x 20" oil/canvas 1990
This study of dark against light utilizes a textured canvas with reddish orange underpainting. It is a very interesting piece.
16" x 20" oil/canvas 1986
This was a piece I wanted to keep, as I really liked the colors and the Antelope , but I have decided to let it go. It was one of my favorite pieces.
I lived on a cattle ranch, in a house just to the left of the gate depicted. The apricot tree was always very beautiful in the spring, and one year in particular, it had so many tasty apricots, many ended up on the ground. I gathered as much as I could, and canned them in jars, but..... I'll never forget that!

UNFRAMED ONLY unless specified
24" x 30" oil/linen 1998
The famous Boston Swan boats
20" x 30" oil/linen 2009
The autumn fields of western Massachusetts in the background.
10" x 20" oil/linen 2011
A group of Snow Buntings that I encountered in a field out on Nantucket. They constantly flew away, circled around, and then returned to the same spot.
24" x 18" oil/linen 2006
This piece was exhibited at the Cahoon Museum of American Art. The Bluebird provides a nice spot of color against the grays & greens of an overgrown garden.
14" x 11 oil/linen not dated, approx. 2010
A simple piece, showcasing the array of colors in a seemingly white bird.
16" x 12" egg tempera/panel 2011
The beach in spring can be a cold windy place, as portrayed in this egg tempera piece. The Song Sparrrow holds fast, regardless of the battering winds.
This piece was exhibited at the Cahoon Museum of American Art, and at the Salmagundi Club in NYC with the Audubon Artists Annual Show. It won the Gamblin color award at that exhibit.

18" x 24" oil/panel 2011
A group of Semi Palmated Plovers running along the mud flats on a rainy day. A very simple calming piece, it reminds me of oriental art, and would look great in a contemporary setting.
16" x 20" oil/canvas 1995
This piece won Best of Show in the Woodcarving and Wildlife Art Festival held annually in CT.

30" 36" oil/linen 2011
Painted more as an illustration rather than a piece of artwork, this large painting depicts a variety of Shorebirds during the fall migration out on Monomoy island, south of Chatham. This piece is too large to ship flat. It would have to be removed from the stretchers and rolled up (doesn't damage the art). The stretchers would be sent with it, a frame shop could easily re staple the art to the stretchers. If you are fairly local, pick up or delivery could certainly be arranged without removing the piece from the stretchers.
9" x 12" oil/linen 2017
A fairly recent piece, this Goldfinch has not been exhibited widely, hence the minimal discount. Still, having previously been priced at $3200.00, it is a great deal. This comes framed in a beautiful hand carved & gilded frame, with a paper backing & wired for hanging. Price would be $1560.00 if you prefer it unframed.
14" x 11" oil over egg tempera/panel 2017
Another fairly recent piece, The Trio brings together 3 exotic items: a vase from Japan, Orchid from the tropics, and a Fairy Wren from Australia.
Here are some close up images from a few of the paintings above:
Here are a group of paintings that depict all kinds of different subjects. Some of these have never been shown, as they were painted for fun, for practice, or maybe for a commission that fell through - you never know. Unframed only.
10" x 20" oil/canvas 2009
The colors of Fall have come to Audubon Sanctuary in Wellfleet - a most beautiful place.
20" x 24" oil/linen 2005
A large Maine Coon cat sits and looks out the window - at what, we do not know. Perhaps a bird? This is an old house in Dennisport that has been the backdrop for many paintings I have done over the years.
18" x 14" oil/canvas 1992
Painted originally for someone who decided they couldn't pay for it - oh well. Now it's your bargain.

20" x 16" oil/panel 2008
For those of you who like gray and white - here are a few beautiful lilies. I've been growing them in my yard for many years.
5" x 7" oil/canvas 2007
Just a simple little apple, with a nice raindrop
20" x 24" oil/linen 2011
An old Scalloping boat had been painted whimsically with shark teeth. As I walked past it almost every day one summer, I knew I had to paint it. One day, away from it's usual slip, it was in a perfect spot to pick up the reflected light on the water & bring out the colors of the boat itself. This piece was exhibited at the Cotuit Center for the Arts as part of their Annual exhibit, and also at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont as part of their "New England Impressions Show".
12" x 18" oil/canvas date unknown, approx 1998
This study of the different shades of blue inherent in a glacier was actually part of a larger piece, but I decided to cut it down to showcase the glacier only. I am happy with the result. It almost looks abstract, and would fit in beautifully in a contemporary decor.
5" x 7" oil/panel
Just a piece to practice the faux finish of turquoise which makes up the backdrop.
I have just a few unframed prints to offer:
20" x 10" An ink print on "canvas" , which is a very nice alternative to an actual painting. It is stretched on stretcher bars, just like the real thing. However, it does not have the same depth of color, the sheen, nor the raised brushwork of a real piece. One must be very careful, as these tend to scratch easily.
8" x 10" comes with a mat
A print of a pastel which has been enhanced by actual pastel work. The original piece was done from the top of a dune in Truro.
A Snowy Egret wading through the calm shallow waters of Cape Cod Bay. This is an ink print on "canvas", which is a nice alternative to an actual piece of artwork. It is stretched on stretcher bars, just like the real thing. However, it does not have the same depth of color, sheen, and no raised brushwork. Also, they tend to scratch easily, so you must be careful handling them.
