The American Redstart is one of the warblers that we see in the summer throughout areas of the eastern US. They are lively, colorful little birds that flitter around the woods fanning their tails. It's not known exactly why they like to do this, but one theory is that it causes insects to fly, where the redstarts can then catch them on the wing.

This piece was created with my signature style of abstracting the backgrounds, with precise detailed main subject.
