"Windblown" (Song Sparrow)   16" x 12" egg tempera/panel

These tree roots are exposed on a beach in Chatham MA. They are a reminder of how we sometimes become battered and windblown by everyday life. Even so, these roots have become beautiful art forms, with silvery tones and smooth sculpted finishes. In the midst of it all, we must be like the Song Sparrow in this piece - facing the wind and holding fast.
